You know, I think "uncontrolled" is actually the word Adam and Eddy used to describe Emma's magic in the podcast for 2x22 as well. I do think it might have been a matter of not really knowing much about Emma's magic yet and what she can do with it already, without any kind of actual training. It's an unpredictable force. But yeah, it was obviously very convenient for the unfolding of the plot and the dramatic tension that Emma didn't even seem to remember that she has magic until the very last moment. So that might have played into it and why Regina didn't seem to think of it either, too.

^ That's pretty cool. I do like that making together is kind of their thing now and I hope the season finale wasn't the last time for them to do it either. Eddy said something in the podcast about how they're strong as seperate characters, but together they're much stronger (I'll look up the correct quote again since I think it would make a nice new thread title too) and I hope they'll expand on that next season. If Emma wants to learn more about magic, I still think Regina is the obvious choice. (I know there's also Rumple, but with his history of teaching young women magic and how that turned out for them I'd rather not have him add Emma to this list.)
